U.S.A-BELIZE : Depart U.S.A. for a fantastic vacation in Belize. Arrive and transfer to the Belize Biltmore. | | Day 2 | Maruba | SAT. BELIZE-MARUBA : Depart Belize City by car for an hour drive to the exotic Maruba Spa Resort. In the afternoon your guide will take you to explore the Mayan ruins of Altun-Ha - at one time it spread out about 20 square miles. You will see towers, palaces and pyramids of this great city. Return to Maruba for overnight. (L) | | Day 3 | Adventure Inn | SUN. MARUBA-LAMANAI-ADVENTURE INN : Today your tour guide will take you to the Crooked Tree Wild Life Sanctuary, Then by boat through marshes and swamps for some bird watching (Jabaru storks, the largest flying bird; wood storks; herons; ducks; grebes; hawks, etc.). Continue to Guinea Grass where you will board a motor boat to explore the remote Mayan site of Lamanai, which is 3,500 years old. Here you will see the tallest Mayan building (112 feet). Archaeologist have defined more than 700 buildings on this site. Return to Guinea Grass by boat and continue driving to the outskirts of Corozal to Tony's Inn for overnight. (B,L) | | Day 4 | Belize | MON. COROZAL-CERROS-CUELLO/BELIZE : Depart by boat across the Bay of Corozal to visit the Mayan Ruins of Cerros (400 B.C.). There you will see ball courts and remains of large facial medallions. Back to Corozal for lunch, then visit the Mayan site of Santa Rita. Continue to Cuello (2600 B.C.), another astonishing Mayan site. Through carbon of wood found here, it was determined that Cuello had been occupied more than 4,000 years ago. Return to Belize City for overnight at the Hotel Biltmore Plaza. (B,L) | | Day 5 | Ambergris Caye | TUE. BELIZE-AMBERGRIS CAYE : Transfer to the airport for flight to the town of San Pedro in Ambergris Caye. Most hotels here are within walking distance of each other. Transfer to Ramons Village or Journey's End for overnight. (Garden View). | | Day 6 - 7 | Ambergris Caye | WED-THU. AMBERGRIS CAYE : Days at leisure to explore this picturesque town of San Pedro or enjoy fishing, sailing, sun bathing, scuba diving or snorkel the second largest reef in the world (176 miles). | | Day 8 | Return USA | FRI. AMBERGRIS CAYE-BELIZE/U.S.A : Transfer to the San Pedro airport for flight to Belize International Airport to connect on time for your flight back to the U.S.A. |
