LAKE YOJOA-PULHAPANZAK Drive up the pine covered mountains to the Pulhapanzak waterfalls, which is located next to an indigenous archeological site. You can hike to the bottom and back of the waterfall. Continue to Lake Yojoa where you can enjoy the great scenery while having lunch at the Agua Azul Hotel. OMOA SPANISH FORTRESS Take a 1 hour drive to the north coast of Honduras where you will visit one of the many forts built by the Spaniards to protect the coasts and ocean from pirates and corsairs who were on the prowl for the treasures that Spain was shipping from Central America. The fort was built in 1776 and is located on the coast shore the first port of Honduras was established. We will visit one of the local beachfront hotels where you can swim and if you wish have lunch. Return in the afternoon to San Pedro Sula. CUSUCO Depart early by 4x4 vehicles to climb to 6800 ft to the fast growth forest of el Cusuco National Park. Upon arrival at the visitors center, hike the different trails admiring the flora and fauna. You will see giant ferns, orchids, bromeliads and other plants and if you are lucky you will see the resplendent Quetzal in its breeding grounds observe different birds and flowers.
