Wakaya Island
Set in turquoise coral-ringed waters with an abundance of beautiful palm-studded beaches, Wakaya is a gem among the Fiji Islands.

More than two centuries ago Captain William Bligh sailed the Bounty into the bay of Wakaya and discovered an idyllic Eden in the heart of Fiji's archipelago.

Over 200 years later the island was bought by Canadian Entrepeneur David Gilmour and his wife Jill, who together created the ultimate unspoiled tropical heaven on their island.

Wakaya is one of 333 islands that comprise the Fiji group. Approximately five miles by one and a half miles (2,200 acres) in size, it is part of the Lomaiviti group situated in the Koro Sea due east of Viti Levu (the main island of Fiji).

Air travel time on Air Wakaya's own Britten Islander aircraft between Nadi International Airport and Wakaya Island is approximately 45 minutes each way. Air travel time between Nausori Airport (near the country's capital Suva) and Wakaya Island is 20 minutes each way. Specific rates are available for Villa inspections.

Wakaya remains the jewel in the crown of the Fiji Islands today.
